The following pages give details of vacancies available within the NHS in 2003. The vacancies are grouped in discipline order to ease selection. Each vacancy has an alpha-numerical code. A summary of the vacancies for each discipline is given in Appendix I.

You can apply for these vacancies either on-line or on a paper application form. Further information is detailed below. Please Note: You are requested to submit only one application therefore do not apply ?n-line?and complete a paper application form.

PAPER APPLICATION FORMS

Write clearly or type to avoid confusion and use BLACK ink to improve photocopying.

  1. Choose up to a maximum of four suitable vacancies and enter them on the Application Form in alpha-numerical order only e.g. E1, NY1, W1, W2 not NY1, E1, W2, W1.
  2. Complete your personal details and all the relevant sections of the form.
  3. Check that the form is completed fully, legibly and correctly.
  4. Return your completed application form to the Clinical Scientists Recruitment Office Administrator:

Receipt of the applications will be individually acknowledged. Please note any CV?, certificates and references attached to your form will not be forwarded to the Regional Tutors. All necessary information should be included on your application form.

TO APPLY 'ON-LINE'

  1. Register your details
  2. Complete the 'on-line' application form using the Applicant Details Wizard for guidance. Please ensure you complete all 7 parts of the form.
  3. When you have entered all your details submit you form by clicking on the tick box at the bottom of the page.
  4. Click on Vacant Posts and choose up to a maximum of 4 vacancies.
  5. View the vacancies you have applied for by clicking on 'Display Current Posts Applied For'.
  6. Logout

TIMETABLE

  1. Closing date for the receipt of applications is 28 February 2003.
  2. Copies of your application will be forwarded to the Local Contacts at the hospitals of your choice.
  3. Successful candidates will be contacted to attend interview at the hospital for second stage selection.
  4. Candidates who have not been notified by 31 May must assume that they have not been successful. We are unable to contact each applicant individually.
  5. Interviews will be completed by the end of May (unless otherwise notified).
  6. You must accept or reject any offers of trainee employment by 31 May 2003, or earlier if requested by the employing authority.
  7. The Clinical Scientists Recruitment Office will operate a follow-up system to match any unfilled vacancies with unplaced applicants. The list of unfilled vacancies will be available from the Recruitment Office and on the Clinical Scientist website during July 2003. Interested applicants should apply at that time indicating for which vacancies they wish to be considered. Please indicate on your application form if you would like your form to be automatically put forward for any unfilled vacancies we become aware of specifying one preferred discipline only.
  8. The second round of interviews should be completed by the end of July 2003.
